Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is a core value of DSC and is fully integrated into our management systems, operational planning, and day-to-day activities. We believe that all accidents, injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents are preventable, and we strive to achieve a zero-incident work culture across all operations.
HSE Objectives
Our HSE objectives are to:

Management Commitment & Responsibility
DSC management is fully accountable for HSE performance and is committed to establishing and maintaining effective HSE management systems, providing adequate resources, training, and supervision, ensuring HSE requirements are integrated into all project phases, and demonstrating leadership and visible commitment to HSE excellence.
All managers and supervisors are responsible for enforcing this policy and ensuring safe work practices are followed at all times.
Employee & Contractor Responsibility
All employees, subcontractors, and visitors are required to comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and site rules, use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and hazards immediately, stop work if unsafe conditions exist and notify supervision, and participate in HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
Risk Management & Safe Operations
DSC adopts a proactive approach to safety by conducting risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA), applying the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or reduce risks, maintaining safe operating procedures for all tasks and equipment, and ensuring regular inspection, maintenance, and certification of tools, vehicles, and machinery.
Training & Competency
We ensure personnel competency by providing HSE induction training for all employees and contractors, delivering task-specific and refresher training as required, conducting regular safety briefings and toolbox meetings, and allowing only trained and authorized personnel to operate specialized equipment.
Environmental Protection
Defense Support Contracting LLC is committed to minimizing environmental impact by preventing pollution to air, land, and water, reducing waste and promoting recycling where practicable, conserving energy, fuel, and natural resources, managing hazardous materials safely and responsibly, and complying with all environmental permits and regulations.
Incident Reporting & Investigation
All incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental events must be reported immediately through established procedures, investigated to determine root causes, addressed through corrective and preventive actions, and communicated to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness
DSC maintains emergency response plans to manage fire and explosion, medical emergencies, environmental spills and releases, natural disasters, and site-specific risks. Emergency drills and training are conducted regularly to ensure preparedness.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
We are committed to full compliance with applicable HSE legislation and client requirements, regular inspections, audits, and performance reviews, continuous improvement of HSE systems and practices, and periodic review of this policy to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
Policy Enforcement
Failure to comply with this HSE Policy may result in disciplinary action, removal from site, or termination of employment or contract.
